Evaluation and treatment sessions for a variety of cognitive-communication difficulties. Areas of expertise include rehabilitation and compensatory strategy training for traumatic brain injury, stroke, dementia, and more.
Evaluation and treatment sessions for swallowing disorders (dysphagia) due to a variety of diagnoses. I specialize in dysphagia related to stroke, traumatic brain injury, head/neck cancer, and respiratory conditions, and more.
Evaluation and treatment sessions for individuals with conditions resulting in aphasia. This includes difficulty finding the correct word they are thinking of, difficulty answering questions, and understanding what is asked of them.
I focus on meaningful activities and prioritize the preservation of independence by leveraging existing skills and capabilities for as long as possible. Additionally, I employ environmental modifications to create a supportive external system, promoting autonomy and dignity for individuals living with dementia.
Individuals who have had a tracheostomy tube placed in their airway and are in need of different forms of communication, trialing of a one-way speaking valve, respiratory muscle training, and/or difficulty swallowing.
Phone consult designed to provide education/training and personalized guidance to caregivers seeking assistance in managing the deficits of their loved ones due to various conditions. Does not involve formal testing or direct interaction with the patient.
BrainWaves Rehabilitation is currently in-network with Medicare Part B and offers private pay options for individuals who do not have traditional Medicare benefits. I can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for out-of-network coverage.
Speech therapy services are eligible for HSA or FSAs.
